1 About This Policy

This Privacy Policy is published by TAAROM Tech Solutions LLP ("TAAROM", "We", "Us", or "Our") in compliance with:

This Policy applies to all Users, Astrologers, and Visitors of the Platform, whether accessed via the website at taarom.in or through the Android and iOS mobile applications.

TAAROM is a technology intermediary platform that connects Users with independent Astrologers. All astrology services on the Platform are belief-based and for personal guidance purposes only.

2 Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide you with a safe, personalised, and functional experience on the Platform.

  • Payment details (via secure gateways)
  • Bank details (Astrologers only, for payouts)

  • IP address and location data
  • App usage patterns and session data
  • Cookies and analytics data
  • Log files and crash reports

Sensitive Personal Data: Birth details (date, time, place) are classified as sensitive personal data under applicable Indian law. This information is collected solely for the purpose of enabling astrology consultations and is handled with the highest level of care and security.

3 Why We Collect Your Data

We collect and process your personal data strictly for the following purposes:

  • Creating, verifying, and managing your user account
  • Enabling and facilitating consultations between Users and Astrologers
  • Processing payments, wallet transactions, and Astrologer payouts
  • Providing customer support and resolving disputes
  • Detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, and misuse
  • Improving app performance, features, and user experience
  • Sending important service notifications, updates, and alerts
  • Complying with applicable legal and regulatory obligations
  • Conducting internal analytics and platform research
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial or marketing purposes. Ever.

4 Legal Basis for Processing

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian law, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Consent: You provide explicit consent at the time of registration and while using specific features of the Platform.
  • Contractual Necessity: Processing is necessary to fulfil our obligations to you as a user of the Platform.
  • Legal Obligation: We are required to process certain data to comply with applicable laws, court orders, and regulatory requirements.
  • Legitimate Interests: We process data where necessary for fraud prevention, security, and platform improvement, provided such interests are not overridden by your rights.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

5 Data Sharing and Disclosure

TAAROM does not share your personal data except in the following limited and controlled circumstances:

  • Between Users and Astrologers: Limited profile and consultation data is shared to enable sessions on the Platform.
  • Payment Gateways: Payment data is shared with authorised and PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors solely for transaction processing.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure Providers: We use reputable cloud hosting and technology service providers who are contractually bound by strict data protection and confidentiality obligations.
  • Identity Verification Providers: For Astrologer onboarding and KYC compliance where applicable.
  • Legal and Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose data when required by law, court order, government directive, or to protect the rights and safety of TAAROM, its users, or the public.
All third-party service providers engaged by TAAROM are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal data and are prohibited from using it for any purpose other than the specific service they provide to us.

6 Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

  • Account data is retained for the duration of your active account and for up to 3 years following account closure, as required for legal and audit purposes.
  • Consultation data is retained for a period necessary to resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations.
  • Payment records are retained for a minimum of 7 years in accordance with applicable financial and tax regulations.
  • Data deletion requests are processed within 48 hours, subject to legal retention requirements. Refer to our Data Deletion Policy for details.

7 Data Security

TAAROM implements reasonable and industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. These include:

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian law, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

11 Age Restriction

The TAAROM Platform is intended exclusively for individuals aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect, process, or store personal data from individuals below the age of 18.

If we become aware that personal data has been collected from a minor without verifiable parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete such data. If you believe a minor has submitted data on our Platform, please contact us immediately at contact@taarom.in.

12 Cross-Border Data Transfers

Your personal data is primarily stored and processed within India. In certain circumstances, data may be transferred to or processed in other countries where our service providers operate.

Any such cross-border transfer shall be carried out in accordance with applicable Indian data protection laws and subject to adequate safeguards including contractual data protection obligations imposed on the recipient.

14 Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, TAAROM has designated a Grievance Officer to address complaints and concerns regarding the processing of personal data.
